// about us

Connected. Supported. Professionally prepared.

The Computer Science Graduate Student Association (CS-GSA) is the official representative body for CS graduate students at Oklahoma State University. We exist to build a connected, supported, and professionally prepared graduate community — fostering collaboration among students, advocating for their interests within the department, and raising awareness of what computer science makes possible on campus and beyond.

Each year we run the New Graduate Student Orientation, networking lunches with faculty and peers, research talks and professional development workshops, and social events to help you recharge. We also pass along department announcements and funding and travel opportunities for the graduate community — so nothing worth applying to slips past you.

Navigating the Path from PhD to Postdoc

Dr. Sujay Yadalam (postdoc, UT Austin; PhD, UW–Madison) joined us virtually to talk about what a postdoc actually does, how positions really get filled, a 12-month timeline, and the questions to ask before you say yes. The key idea: a postdoc is a bridge to your next role.

Travel funding proposal & the case for a stipend increase

Two asks on behalf of every CS grad student. We submitted a travel-funding allocation proposal for CS-GSA, and we requested and submitted a comparative evidence document making the case for a graduate stipend increase — a pressing issue the department has now forwarded to the Graduate College. We'll report back as both move.
